About this lot

70s vintage majolica tiles from Spain and Italy. This tile mural consists of 4 vintage tiles from the early 70s, that were never used. Typically 70s geometric brutalist, industrial fat lava design. 70s vintage tile mural in light brown and ochre beige.

Can be hanged on a wall by adding a small adhesive hook or placed on a tile rack to display on a shelf or of course they can be used as "tiles" for any construction project or maybe on a piece of furniture like a table or chair.

The speckled beige-brown tiles tiles have a red clay base and were made by Spanish manufacturer Alcora in the province of Castellón while the ochre beige were made by Marazzi in Italy using white clay

What is Fat Lava?

Fat Lava is the name collectors gave to the thick, bubbly glazes of the 1960s and 70s. The glaze stands up from the tile like cooled lava, so each one catches the light a little differently. Here you will also find heavy brutalist tiles with deep texture and marbled glazes.

How many tiles do I need?

One 15 cm tile covers 0.0225 m², so a square metre takes about 45 tiles. Measure your wall and ask us: we can put several lots together.
