These tiles have small chips, which you can see in the photos. That is why the price is lower.

About this lot

Seconds, last 4 pieces, with some chips and sscratches .SET OF 4, 2 RED, 2 BLUE.
Stunning RED and BLUE 60s or 70s vintage tiles, made in Spain. Deeply embossed geometric design, fat lava style, Made in Spain in the late 60s or early 70s. On the back of the red you can read Alhama, it is the name of a village in the Spanish province of Zaragoza, with some pottery tradition. I am however unsure if the tiles were either made there or if this is the name of the artist that manufactured them.
The blue came from the same warehouse, most probably made in the same area, but they are beautifully glazed and glossy.

Unused but with some chips and uneven color. PLEASE SEE PICTURES FOR REFERENCE

The tiles measure approx 20 cm - just under 8 in, they are very thick, approx 2 cm 3/4 in. and very heavy , over 1 kg

What is Fat Lava?

Fat Lava is the name collectors gave to the thick, bubbly glazes of the 1960s and 70s. The glaze stands up from the tile like cooled lava, so each one catches the light a little differently. Here you will also find heavy brutalist tiles with deep texture and marbled glazes.
